Fantabulosa ( an emphasise of fantabulous) well predates Van Morrison -- it was frequently used by Kenneth Williams (as the camp Julian) in the radio comedy Around the Horne which ran in the mid 1960's, and was part of 'Polarii' -- a semi-secret gay language (at a time when homosexuality was illegal)

It means wonderful/excellent etc

fantastic plus fabulous. It's a fantabulous night for a moon dance sang Van Morrison.

mind you I always thought Van Morrison was vicious for years. I thought he was singing "going down the old man with a transistor radio" and envisioned this poor guy being beaten up with a beat box.

I now know it's "going down the old mine with a transistor radio"
