Because people don't want to hear the truth. Sometimes it is because the truth hits the guilt spot and they don't like that.

Are you serious??? Ah, maybe it's because the person didn't agree with your comment.
If all it took to not get a thumbs down is answering a question truthfully, HOW would anyone know that's what you did besides you? We don't know you - we can't even SEE you, so how could we know if you're answering a question truthfully or not?
This forum is based on opinions that we agree or don't agree with, not on whether any given question is answered truthfully or not.

It depends on what the question is and who it's geared for. When you have a question aimed at Christians and atheists write in an answer, you'll get a lot of thumbs-down and vice versa.
Then again, sometimes people just don't want to hear the truth.

It's regret able yahoo doesn't keep a count of up/down and put in where others can see it. Software wise it would not be a big deal.
Sometimes it appears someone just goes through and gives thumbs up/down to almost everyone.

Lets think this through; who would you give a thumbs down to? A person who expressed an argument you didn't agree with right? Well, there you go. No matter how honest you are about your point of view, there's always gunna be some asshole that doesn't like what you have to say.

A lot of people don't know the difference between facts and opinions
A. there is a God
B there is no god
which is the fact?
A. Republicans suck
B Democrats suck
which is the fact.
The correct answer is that these are all opinions

It depends entirely on who's asking the question and how many people who disagree with the question just check the answers to vote against people.

because some people dont want to hear your answer and must disagree with it even if you clearly state a fact that has been proven, that it is just your opinion and others may differ etc etc etc. I dunno, I think its a shame that people will put you down just for having different ideas or opinions!

Not everyone is going to agree with you, like your opinion, or think your answer is great. I bet you've given thumbs down to others.

Because something may be of your opinion, but may still be dead wrong. Doesn't change that that's your opinion. But it also doesn't make it the truth.

I totally empathize with you....Some folks just can't handle the truth, so they get mad, pout, stomp, yell, curse, then click "thumbs down," and/or report.
It's a matter of maturity.....Yahoo doesn't have maturity restrictions on accounts, just age restrictions.
