MAGNERS cider, which only appeared in english pubs and off-licences for the first time three years ago, yesterday claimed to have grabbed a leading 43.3 per cent share of the burgeoning cider market. it was originally sold as bulmers cider and still is in northern ireland and some irish themed pubs in england.

I used to work in a free house pub. We were approached almost 4 years ago buy the agents for Magners to sell it. We took a crate and offered it to some of our regulars. None of them were very impressed with it. I have to say that IMHO it is no where as good as Scrumpy Jack or Olde English So it just goes to show you how good advertising can be.

I'm sure it's been about two or three years now.

It's only been 'mainstream' since this summer since those annoying ads have been n the tv. But you used to be able to see it in a few select pubs around the place for a couple of years at least.

Only seen it advertised and for sale since this summer. It comes in ginormous bottles - obviously aimed at the blokey upmarket alcoholic market.

some pubs have only been selling it as recently as this year. Ita ll depends on the pubs and if they thought they would make money from it as some pubs wouldn't sell much and some would sell loads.
