There are two ways, either contact the tax office, get the forms, fill them in, submit them and hope everything is in order. It can sometimes be time consuming and often complicated.

Alternatively get the TNT magazine, it's free outside some tube stations, on Mondays, and look in there for tax/finance agencies/consultants or search online. There are many.

They usually charge about 10%, no win no fee. This is the easiest and quickest way of doing it. They send you all the forms with an 'X' marking the spot. Sign it and send it back. Usually you will have your money within six weeks.

Phone up your local tax office and ask them for a rebate form - this is the quickest way.

Alternatively you can do nothing - you will be sent a cheque in about 2 years.
