The best diet I have found is moderation. Radical loss plans do not keep it off for me. It needs to be a diet that you can maintain and not feel like you are depriving yourself. It does not hurt to eat a slice of pie or a couple cookies once in awhile. It is what you do on an over all basis. Wise life style choices in dining that can last a life time will probably help you along with a exercise plan you can stick to as well. Good Luck.

Any diet will work but it will have to be one that you are willing to maintain as a life style eating plan which is hard to do with fad diets so we end up putting the weight back on as we go back to our regular eating habits.

Keep in mind the following about emotional eating:

You already know how to lose weight. You know that if you eat less and exercise more eventually you’ll see the pounds come off. What’s getting in your way? Why do you usually regain the weight you lost? The answer to all these questions is the same “Emotional Eating.” Simply defined, emotional eating means you eat to satisfy emotional hunger; it means you use food for comfort or as a way to cope with life; and it means you eat for reasons other than what your body needs. Whenever you reach for a boredom-breaking snack despite your commitment, or whenever you eat to quell anxiety, that’s emotional eating. Whenever you binge after a fight, or double up on portions because your day turned sour, that’s emotional eating. Whenever you feel that sharp craving for your favorite food, that’s emotional eating. When we eat during these times while on a diet, we believe the diet doesn’t work or that we lack self control and then look for the quickest way to lose weight (fasting/diet pills, ect) after eating all we can since we already messed the diet day up.

Get control of your emotional eating and any diet will work. Best of Luck !

The best diet is the one you can live with for the rest of your life.

Try to eat the healthiest foods possible as many days as possible. Eat a protein with every meal or snack; eat good fats.

Calculate your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). To lose weight eat only this amount of calories. To maintain your weight add about 500 to cover what you would burn in a day. Get some exercise every day.

If you slip and go off your diet, try as soon as possible to get back on. Keep a food diary and record what you eat and the amount of calories. You will get a good idea of how many calories you need to eat to lose weight and maintain weight.

Good luck.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.
