They are your customers. I have no idea what type of pictures you need. If it's for web work probably any that meet your needs. If regular camera means film, I still don't know from the information you supplied.

By regular you mean film??? Or point & shoot digital???
It depends. What kind of customers do you have and what do they want?
For portraits, weddings, etc, yes, you need an slr or medium format film.
For web shots, some macro, then a high quality point and shoot might suffice.
It all depends on your skill level and your customer's expectations.

the answer would depend on the needs.
but with the SLR - the creativity and designs- are both endless
i would suggest investing in a good SLR camera. but if you really want to excel in them, you would be spending a whole lot more in the lenses and flashes etc.. so keep that in mind

We use a great Nikon DSLR at work and save tons of time on editing the actual images in Photoshop, for they are normally great without any extra work. Therefore, if your business requires high quality images I would definitely recommend a high quality camera to increase productivity and quality of your service!

Really depends what you are going to use the pictures for or on and if you need to have them at that moment. I would say you should try both and see which works best for you and go from there.
