You might not be cooking the fresh carrots long enough if they still have that raw taste. Personally, I find the frest carrots impart much more flavor (in a good way) than the bland frozen stuff, also they are healtier. Make sure you skin the carrot. Try cutting your carrot into finer piece so that they cook faster and easier. Try buying your carrots elsewhere. Or try baby carrots. when buying carrots, buy carrot that have the smoothest cleanest texture and aren't old, dry and knotty looking.

Carrots have a long shelf life and the "fresh" carrots we buy in the store could be several months old. Frozen carrots were cleaned and frozen almost immediately after picking and have therefore maintained their "fresh" taste.
Buy organic carrots or spruce up your carrots by peeling them, soaking them in cold water (to refresh them) and then steam with a little sugar.

When I cook fresh carrots, I slice them slightly on the diagonal, boil them until just tender, then add a bit of sugar along with butter, salt and pepper. I think the sugar takes that earthy taste away a bit.

Are you getting organic carrots? They are sweeter and more delicious. Introduce raw carrots onto your diet. Buy a juilliene peeler and add them to everything that you wish to have a little crunch- salads, sandwiches, etc... Carrots are grand :)

Not sure! Maybe something to do with where you live? I always prefer fresh produce because they are more nutritious when eaten raw.
