There is no definite answer to your question since the reported number varies depending on who's counting. The latest study though published by the Lancet medical journal in October 2006, suggested that about 655,000 people had died in Iraq as a result of the 2003 invasion. Quite impressive isn't it? I guess the argument for the war just went out of the window!

The Iraqi government released their death toll recently. It was at just over 150,000.
Fewer than 3000 US soldiers have been killed in combat.
The sources that say that 650,000 people have been killed in Iraq are unsubstantiated and full of crap. That would mean that more than 500 Iraqi civilians have been killed every day since the war started. That number, according to the Iraqi government, is impossible, as there is only one person to each grave, and there have NOT been even CLOSE to 600,000 graves dug.

Compared to WWII the number of KIA's are relatively minimal. 407,300 US military men were killed in WWII, and 5,754,000 Jews were killed from holocaust deaths. WW2 and the Iraq war are different wars and different times of course, but I wonder how we as Americans would have survived then with the media/politicians we have now? We wouldnt have, the media/politicians would have been calling for withdrawals etc. and Europe would be officially known as Germany today. Remember, Germany never attacked us (Japan did), but we went to war with them! I served my country for 4.5 years and I am concerned about every military death and injury, but we might as well get rid of the military entirely if people cant take the fact that sometimes numerous military people die during war/conflicts!

In Iraq? or around the world? or in Pierre, North Dakota?

Try http://www.iraqbodycount.org - they base their numbers on reported deaths, not bizarre statistical methods that yield laughable numbers like 650,000.

thank you, you have stated a significant element imho. I truthfully have struggled with the vehicle information ever when you consider that I found out that greater individuals died in automobile injuries than each and all of the yank militia deaths brought about by ability of conflict involvements, when you consider that u . s . grew to become into based. there's a distinction! death by ability of organic motives, or shall I say "acts of god", are or must be positioned right into a distinctive type. what number international only die of previous age, in that element era? right this is the element, and that i comprehend distinctive you conflict hawks obtainable won't like it. loose determination! In an unintentional death the drivers in basic terms are regularly in charge, specially circumstances one specially circumstances better than one motive force {multi-automobile accident}. In a conflict the individuals on the two factors are envisioned///ordered to kill for POLITICAL motives! O.ok. shall we inspect this. If my parent informed me to pass over and kill the guy down the line, because of the fact their afraid he would desire to be a terrorist, or for the different reason,,,,,,,,maximum individuals could go away homestead previously they could carry out a planned act of homicide. yet let's imagine my mothers and dads would desire to coach our dogs that killing strangers, or the guy down the line, grew to become into O.ok. I ask you isn't that still seen homicide? If we are ever going to have "Peace on earth" Please think of approximately This!
