Subway! You call THAT a meatball sandwich? Find a pizzeria where they serve them, some do. Ask for some melted mozerella or provolone on it. Now THAT'S a meatball sandwich. Nevermind the mess.

eat the meatballs that make the sandwich over flow like the ones near the top of the sandwich or take them out and eat seperately then u should have a less messy sandwich to deal with i know this because i did when i would make them at home

the sandwich usually comes wrapped with a small white paper. Wrap the sandwich with that like an ice cream and eat it the sauce will drip in the bottom and onto the paper.

It's not wrong. Everyone has different tastes. It would be wrong for ME to eat a meatball sub without cheese. My favorite is Provolone.

By being very careful and using a full napkin, have some wet wipes ready too.

Should try something more healthy though and less messy?

You have to have them cut it the old way (cut the center out from the top) and have it toasted. Works pretty good for me.
