Maybe you're a "perfectionist". I don't know if anyone would consider that an "problem", unless it is beginning to disrupt your lifestyle or affect your relationships.

It sounds like you might be taking it a little to far though. I think by spending so much time and energy trying to "control" everything, you aren't leaving yourself much time to "enjoy" things.

Maybe you need to learn how to "relax" a little more. You can't "control" everything. Some things are just out of our "control" and there isn't any point in "stressing" over them.

If you are "worried" about this, maybe you should seek some sort of "help" with it. There's nothing wrong with getting a "professional" opinion when you're trying to figure something out.

Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Obsessive Compulsive disorder. People with this condition are tough to live with but on the flip side if this trait is applied appropriately it can make for a very productive individual. It is all a matter of channelling the compulsions the right way. Don't worry about the stigma and get help from a psychologist so you can use this to your advantage.

There are many people with psychologic conditions that are very productive. Manic people can get lots done, compulsive people can get things done well.

Sorry, Bad News.

You can control 'nothing' beyond what you say and do.

Good News.

You are the same as everyone else.

Fact: Worry all you like about it because, it is not 'a fact.'

What you call 'Fact' is often a judgemental and subjectively based biased opinion.

PS: 'Quality' is purely subjective.

If you are sincere in what you have written, then I strongly recommend that you find yourself 'Professional Help,' sooner rather than later.

Lots is the matter. You are a control freak and you have taken it to the nth degree. I think you need a bit of help putting things into perspective because your friends would like this forever. You will have a more fun and fulfilling life if you can relax and enjoy things rather than being at the helm all the time!

Get checked for low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with a 6 hour glucose tolerance test, and a fasting blood insulin test. If your body is out of balance with insulin and blood sugar, the brain may be trying to compensate with the obsessive behavior of "control", in order to survive.

Check out www.hufa.org for more info on low blood sugar. A friend of mine was a clean freak (control over clutter and cleanliness) and it was driving a wedge between her and her family. After a while on a diet that controlled insulin production (the cause of low blood sugar is high insulin production), she relaxed, and did not feel the need to be so fussy about everything being in its place.

Best wishes.

Eek! people are being a bit vicious with you aren't they.... there's nothing wrong with you, you just need to deal with some worries which sound pretty deep seated. people often become compulsively controlling when something that they can't control has happened in their lives - parental separation, death of a loved one, lack of success in work etc. Sometimes whatever the trigger is happened long ago and may seem nothing to you now, but has become ingrained in your mind, maybe as a child, as something that could have been prevented by you (even though it couldn't). don't worry too much, the mind is not always rational and it has trained you to act this way, you can retrain it too. ask for help from your GP and they can refer you to someone who can give you exercises and tasks to help retrain your behaviour. there's nothing that can't be fixed, and you will meet the person who can help you. we all have a little OCD in us.... and we can all learn to stop it controlling us. just breathe and enjoy what you can, my thoughts are with you, i've been there!

i think that you overestimate your own abilities. if you knew that you could not control time, had limited ability to control your own body and mind and that your friends are different distinct individuals with their own corresponding levels of ability / inability to control so many aspects of their lives, then you wouldn't feel the need to control. so, i think the problem is that you believe you can control, therefore you feel a need ( perhaps even a duty ) to.
