if you think about it, you're all kept. you're told what to believe, who to believe in, and sometimes even what to wear and what not to eat. kind of seems like slavery where everyone is the victim, regardless of the color of your skin/background. sure some of you chose to be where you are, but most are there simply because it's how they were raised.

Religion is the ultimate con, it is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. The people who subscribe to this colossal pile of crap are slaves to anti-intellectualism. They are self-deluded and socially deluded automatons who spew out drivel as if was truth and try to infect everyone around them with their brain numbing affliction. It is most definitely slavery.

solid Grief! faith isn't in any way, shape or form in accordance with worry. consistent with hazard you are able to in basic terms detect it that way when you consider which you are concerned being held responsible to your options. we've loose will, which ability God enables us to make our own options. he's been very clean in conversing what's suitable and what isn't. Do what's suitable and get carry of rewards; Do what's inaccurate and go through the consequences. in case you % to in basic terms inspect the result one would infer which you're in basic terms doing what's inaccurate. Do solid; do not issue; be chuffed!

Religion yes.
Relationship with the awesome uncreated Creator of the univserse NO.
I don't believe based on what someone has told me. I believe based on what my heavenly Father has revealed to me through His Word.
I was raised in a very nice church. It wasn't a liberal denomination when I was growing up but it sure is liberal now. After reading the Bible from cover-to-cover a couple of times I knew that I had to leave the church I belonged to.
I did a lot of church shopping and now belong to a Bible-based church. The members all seem to have come from a wide range of other denominations, mostly from Catholicism to Congregationalism.
Tell me, which of us is really the slave.

Your statement is half true. The Bible teaches that there are 2 choices in this world. God or Satan. You are a slave to one or the other. A biblical account for this is found in Matthew 6:24.
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
There are many scriptures where Peter or Paul refer to themselves as "bond servants of Jesus Christ", so they felt they were "slaves" to Jesus Christ.
So, just as Christians are slaves to Jesus Christ, non-Christians are slaves to the world, which in turn would be the ruler of this world, or satan.

Do you see yourself as the slave of your parents?
After all they told you for many years what to wear, what to eat, what to do and most probably also what to believe.
They are your parents though and they probably love you very much and believed they were acting in your best interest.
Well, it's the same with God.
He doesn't want to be our master so he can order us around. He wants to be our father so he can take care of us!
Good for you! God isn't threatening his children either.
That is what we were talking about right? The relationship between God and his followers??!

No but that would depend on which religion you are talking about, only the truth will set you free from the bondage of lies and death and False worship(John8:32) I was not raised in the beliefs I now have, but, that is a valid point you raised, for some peoople do just accept the religion because it is what they were brought up to believe because their parents are of that faith. Not because of truth.

Relgion is the moral guidance. Moral guidance is food for soul. Without it we would not be humans anymore.
Religion brings forth objective believers. Without it there would be subjective believers. Thats the difference between simplicity and chaos.
Religion makes humans humble and loving. If it doesn't then it isn't a religion at all.
Religion teaches us to respect the CREATOR, because of which we automatically respect all the creations. If not, everything will be taken for granted.

You could say the same about life in general, not just religion.
The only 'religion' I can speak on with any knowledge is Christianity. One of the principles of Christianity is "free will." Yes, we have rules and regulations that we choose to follow. It is our way of showing our love to God. Love is always more beautiful when it is freely given rather than forced.

it used to be a form of slavery, back in the middle ages in Europe, when they cooked you on a small fire if you did not believe.
It is still a form of slavery in some fundamentalist countries, where religion and state are one, and the Imams rule the country with an iron fist.
But in most countries it is now a club, weekend school, a voluntary social organization, with an ever diminishing number of members.

I do not think that religion is a form of slavery. Carl Marx said something like,"You can not live in society and be free from that society." It means, something will rub on you, never mind if you like it or not. However, there is another issue here: The difference between faith and religion. I feel that religion is something that divides people rather than unites them. Faith is something embedded a lot deeper. And that is something that unites us.
