"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)
Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.
There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.
A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.
With love in Christ.

Catholics observe some older and sacred ritual. Catholic has had lots of works through out its age. The rules are different. They have had various things like sainthood, nuneries, etc
The most I know of Protestant is England went that way when some king couldn't get a divorce.
Christians in general follow the holy bible as a doctrine. Sects have been formed because someone has felt they needed to add or change something for whatever reasons.
Out of them all base Christianity and Catholism is oldest I believe.

Christian is the general term for those who believe in Jesus Christ. Originally it meant those who practised what Jesus preached.
Catholics and Protestants are 2 of the many different Christian denominations. These denominations have been brought about because of the different doctrines each of them believe in.
The main doctrine is that of Christ. Protestants believe that praying to God must be through Christ alone while Catholics pray through saints and even Mary.
hope this helps a bit.

catholics are not Christians, because of their doctrines. Protestants were originally protesters against the catholic church and her false doctrine. Christians and Protestants are the same thing. more and more Protestants are aligning themselves with the catholic church and her false doctrine. i can also prove this by their own words

Both Catholics and Protestants call themselves Christian.
Protestants do not believe in praying to Mary, they prefer to do directly to God. Catholics pray to Mary and a host of others.
Protestants belive in one mediator between man and God. Catholics don't - see Mary and the saints.

Technically nothing as they all believe in God. But it is the ways they perceive God. By the way protestants are anybody who is christian who isn't a catholic and Catholics are christian too.

In my day anyone outside the catholic religion was considered protestant.
A test of the true religion now has been determined and you can see the false ones by their works. Find out what the religion teaches and common sense will direct you to the correct one.
I will tell you in advance, you won't believe what you find because the devil will influence you to leave it alone.

Same as the difference between horse, cow and buffalo manure. When someone sets a hot steamy plate of either in front of you, hands you a fork and then holds a gun to your head and shouts, "Eat", it doesn't make much difference.
