Take your hair styles into consideration. Pulling your hair back into a tight ponytail will cause breakage and using alot of heat on your relaxed hair will also cause breakage. Make sure that you are wrapping your hair up at night time with a silk or satin scarf, your pillow cases could be the cause of your hair breaking off. Good luck ma!

Depending on the grade of hair that you have a lot could be going on. Are you using too strong a relaxer, leaving it in too long, are you relaxing more than just your regrowth, are you relaxing too often?

I would strongly suggest that you get to a liscensed hair care professional who is familiar with RELAXERS. I don't know what your nationality is, regardless, if you are black, I would make certain that when you speak to the hair stylist that you tell them that you have been using RELAXERS, not just PERMS.

Don't just assume that every hair care professional knows the difference. I am a black woman with two bi-racial children. I've had the misfortune of having a misunderstanding happen to me in a salon that I went to for a number of years when my usual hair dresser entrusted her apprentice to do my hair. She ended up putting in a perm for white women in my hair by accident. Talk about a big oops. It ended up costing that salon about a years worth of repair to my hair in the long run.

My point, find a salon and a hair dresser who is willing to help you repair your hair. Mind you, one of the things she/he may tell you is that they may want to initially cut several inches of damaged hair off. Let them, it will grow back. One other thing to be prepared for and this one is the biggie; they may tell you that they may not want you to use any chemical treatments other than deep conditioners for a few months. Trust them, they're trying to help your hair rest and repair itself.

With luck, you will be able to find a good stylist who is talented and gifted and patient who won't charge you too much. The thing is, it's going to take building a relationship with that person to get your hair healthy again. Let them help you with your perms. Be up front with them and let them know that you're on a budget, hey, who isn't? They will more than likely still help you with appropriate product lines and techniques and at a minimum, a consultation with your hair to get you started with what you need to do and what you need to know.

Good luck
