I served 4 years active duty with the USAF and recieved a DD FM 214 with an honorable discharge. I did not serve during war time therefore not entitled to any point preference. am i still considered a veteran????

If you served in the military, you are a veteran. Not your fault there was no war while you were in. Be proud of yourself. I'm proud of you.

Yes, you are veteran. You do not have to serve in war time to be considered a veteran. You are a 4 year veteran of the USAF. Some States give some point preference to veterans whether eligible for a disability or not.

yes you are considered a veteran after serving your country and being honorable discharge. It does not matter if it was war time or not.

yes, you are still a veteran. i have the same situation. served for 5 years but no war time.

You are a veteran if you simply completed 180 days active duty including training, well...circumstances always dictate policy however. But thats my understanding.
