There are three lines of treatment. The first is simply control of pain, for which your physician may prescribe an analgesic other than aspirin. The second treatment is control of inflammation caused by uric-acid crystals. For this your physician may prescribe an anti-inflammatory drug. Alfalfa is a good source of minerals and other nutrients that help to reduce serum uric acid. Take 2,000 to 3,000 milligrams daily in tablet or capsule form.
When an attack of gout strikes, eat only raw fruits and vegetables for two weeks. Juices are best.
Maintain a diet low in purines at all times. Purines are organic compounds that contribute to uric acid formation.
Consume plenty of quality water. Fluid intake promotes the excretion of uric acid.
Avoid rich foods such as cakes and pies. Leave white flour and sugar products out of your diet.

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

They are two different things.
Gout swells your foot to the point where the slightest touch causes pain (in Japan, they call it "Wind pain" since a breeze is enough to hurt)
A doctor will give you anti-inflammatory for the swelling and a laxative since the urinac acid build up causes it.
With Arthritis, stay away from "Nightshade" foods (plants that grow during the night more than the day). Tomatos, capsicum, chili -
A friend used a walking stick for years after a bad broken leg from a motorcycle accident. After going on a Nightshade free diet, he could throw the cane away.

Yes, diet is very important, no red meat, don't drink booze & something that also helps is black cherry juice. It cuts the uric acid & gives a lot of relief. You can get a concentrate in a health food store.
