It does save time, just be sure to give all information needed. Any questions and you'll be delayed.

I know what you mean and its great for people who want to arrive at the last minute. Personally, I am very boring and like to get there early, get rid of my luggage, look round the shops, have a coffee, maybe get some food, because i hate to eat on the plane! and just chill out a while. and if i am there early then the quue is not a problem. I am sure etickets work well eaither way.

Good Luck in NYC hun, dont forget to chill!!!!

What this is reffering to is the Twigh Light Checkin. The desks are open from 1600-2100 the day before the flight. You can check in your bags and collect your boarding pass only the next day. It saves time as the queues for these things are sometimes crazy. Just go the Fast-bag drop area on the day of departure and collect your boarding card, go through security, bingo.....

I've done this. Its an excellent service offered by Virgin. We stayed overnight at the airport, so we checked in our luggage on the evening before our flight. In the morning, all we had to do was go through customs. It saved us over an hour of queueing.
Virgin should also offer the same service when leaving your destination and returning home.
Its well worth doing.

On-line check-in is great when it works. The website should lead you through the steps. Have no experience of Virgin but expect it works like others and you put in your booking reference or e-ticket number etc. Definitely saves queueing at the airport and lets you arrive later than before. Good luck

I've never checked in on line - do they print your boarding pass? With an e-ticket, I check in at the machines at the airport and it takes only seconds, no waiting. Some airports have curbside check-in too. The longest queues I ever stand in are not for check-in but for security. Bah!

i work for virgin LHR you can check in online on an e ticket.once you've checked in online.all you have to do once at the airport, is go to the online bag drop in zone a, and the agent at the check in desk will add your bag tags and print your boarding pass. make sure it's not the diy bag drop there is a difference and you'll just add to the queue at the diy kiosks.the extra info you're referring to is a.p.i(advanced passenger information) which every passenger needs to give for security reasons.as i say this info is for Heathrow

No but I know someone who has and if they hadn't had booked an e-ticket and given all the information across they would have missed the check-in time and would not been allowed to fly. He was very relieved. Yes it does save you a lot of time.

The person will need the confirmation number that is the reservation number... as for the credit card it is only used as identification...they use their card and the computer looks for their name. Yes they will need ID...the names have to match the reservation on the e-ticket. They do not have to use the check in machines they can use the counter and speak to someone there. hope this helps.

I have not done it in America but normally you can do web check-in or kiosk check-in with an E-ticket as long as you have your booking reference.
