I have pretty thick hair and I find that getting it thinned really cuts out the bulk and weight. I also have it layered and this time my stylist used a razor because she said that my hair just lays better when she cuts it with a razor. I have to agree with her. Of course every ones hair is different. So talk to your stylist first.
(Oh,yeah my hair is just a tiny bit past my shoulders.)

I have thick hair also and have tried all three cuts, but prefer layering. I really didn't like the look of thinned hair. Razor cuts tend to leave you with split ends as your hair starts growing out. I'd go for long layers to get rid of some of the bulk.

Don't razor cut it!!!! I too have very thick hair..I suggest getting it thinned a little in the back...Then go for some long layers..Not only will you have a great new look...It will feel lighter on your head and shoulders!!

Get your hair permanently straightened. That will reduce your hair thickness by 50%.(if u have curly hair)

No layers! Thinning is OK. Razor cuts are OK, too.

Straighten your hair everyday with a flat iron, and use hair serum on the ends too. (Citre Shine is good.)

Or if you have straight hair, deep condition it, and don't use hair blow dyers.

i know, it's a pain in the *** having thick hair.

you could try getting long layers, which would keep your hair as long as it is now, or maybe just a little shorter. i have very thick hair, and i know it can get hard to manage, so heres what i do:
-dont blow dry it, it makes it wayyyyy thick.
-dont use a "thick hair shampoo" or mousse to make your hair thicker, but thats obvious.
-and layers will help.

i hope that helps you :]

either layer it or wear it up. I have long thick hair and I always wear it up when its hot.

layers is a good idea, shoulder length is still manageable... ponytail, hair clips. twists etc.
