A friend of mine married a girl who is 5 years younger than him. They are very happy together. If it makes you happy, do it.

Depends how old you are. I married a guy 5 years older but I was 25 at the time. And we have been happily married for 12 years. If your 16 I would say no. If your 18 or older I would say give it a try.

If I was 11 and he was 16, I'm sure some one would protest.
If I was 16 and he was 21, I'm still sure some one would protest.
If I was 18 and he was 23, they'd probably still protest but I wouldn't have to listen to them.
Once of legal age or over, age becomes just a number. Unless there's a huge gap. And 5 years does not make a huge gap.

Yes, Im 26.
But an 17 yo and 22yo would be too much of a mental gap. Same with even 18 and 23 bc one is still playing silly high school games and the other SHOULD be dealing with real life issues.

Yes, I already did in the past...I was 16 then...
The guy I'm dating now is 4 years older than me. I'm of age so it's not a big deal anymore.

yes, bt Im 27, and there is not that much maturity difference between 27 and 32.
The younger you are, the bigger of a gap 5 years seems because of maturity.
If its illegal to date him, then don't. If not, go for it if you like him, but dont expect to be immediately accepted by his friends as an equal, as they may just see you as a kid.

Yes, I did go out with a guy who was 5 years older than me and I married him. We have married for over 10 years.
As for why...............Because the chances are they have grow up some, they are not as immature and some of the game playing stage has passed.

well my bf is 4 years older then me i'm 26 and he's 30 i think it works out well.. for our ages now..
i dont' think i would have dated him at 14.. cause he would have been 18.. and i think where he was at 18 and where i was at 14 wouldn't have worked at all.. as we were int totally different places.. ..
so i think it depends on where you are in your life experiences..
