Canine ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne disease similar to Lyme's and Permethrin is a non toxic pesticide that I would like to get in order to prevent further occurrences. There is no vaccine for canine ehrlichiosis and she contracted this disease WHILE wearing the Frontline Plus collar. So I want to spray the yard and the inside of my house, but Permethrin is NOT shipped to NY, CT or NJ. Any ideas why??

Any suggestions for alternative non-toxic pesticides??

I read a report from the US Army where it is used often with excellent results.

Permethrin can only be applied by licensed applicators in NY - due to it's toxicity to aquatic life if it gets into any water source.

I don't know why it's not shipped to you guys....I know that it's in alot of fly sprays for horses and farm animals....hmmm. Curious.

Perhaps a road trip would be worth your trouble. Pennsylvania's not that far away...

You should look at what kind of bushes you have around your house. I know we had a Blue Spruce pine tree that was literally infested with ticks and we had to take it down.

Any collar used as a preventative is, as you have found, not worth a dime. Use a topical that protects everywhere, not just around the neck.

no idea why but i do know you can buy it in any agway store in pennsylvania. i am in northeast pa and buy it for my barn/animals all the time, about 12.00 a large can. call the nearest agways, have them put it aside for you and make a road trip. or a local agways maybe able to get it for you. sounds like its prohibited by the post office rules because it is a flamable spray can.
