I met my boyfriend online, and prior to meeting, spent nearly a month chatting on the phone,e-mailing and texting. As it turned out,we were well suited, and over 2 years later we're still going strong!
Admittedly,if you had asked me this question prior to meeting him,I would have said it was stupid and NO WAY!! Funny how things happen. My only advice is when you do meet for the first time, make sure it's in a well known public place, and that a friend knows exactly where you'll be.

It can be awkward. You can be attracted to someone by the way that they type and by what they say and even if you see a picture you may be attracted to them but watch out. Things are always different in real life. It may just be the excitement of meeting someone in a different way. But I do know a few people who have hooked up and are happy now, even happily married. But don't try to force online love to work as it can turn out to be a bit hard to break off.

I'd say it would be hard to find love online as you dont actually know the person your talking to they could be a fake.
But hey some relationships probably do work very well i suppose its each to their own but i personally would go for the traditional way - metting a person in the flesh and takin things from there.

It happens. It's just like any other relationship, it may or may not work. I've known many people, including myself, that have had great success w/ their internet love's. Unlike going to your local club, you have greater access to people online. I firmly believe that I probably would have never met my husband w/out the internet since he is from overseas and was living in a different state. We've been married 5 years now.

I met my wife on line 4 years ago, i was already married but in a very bad relationship and only hanging around for my daughter. i knew the split would cost me the earth in monetary terms but i fell head over heels in love with this girl i had never even met and she was half way across the world.
what did i have to lose i certainly wasnt happy with my life and thought what the hell! you only get one chance at true happiness and thank God i found it with her.
We both adore each other and can hardly bare to go to our respective jobs and be parted for 8 or so hours. LOL
You always have a choice and if this person is not the one for you try try again i can personally recommend finding LOVE online.
GOOD LUCK

A lot of people see this as a problem, safety for instance. I don't see why not, as long as it moves from the computer to real life soon if you know what I mean. People can become obsessed with their computers and basically have a relationship with that rather than a real person.

So as long as you keep safe and meet a real person fairly soon then not really an issue.

I suppose anything is possible but personally I fail to see how you can find love through a keyboard. Maybe the initial introduction and then fall in love once you meet but I think people who are in different countries, never meet and then decide to marry are just plain nuts !!!!

looking for love online is ok, so long as you go in with eyes wide open! I know people who have had great success and are now married, others seem to attract the morons.Sell yourself as you would in real life,,,,, it opens up another line to meeting a variety of people you wouldnt in your own life. Be careful and enjoy x
