fungi and bacteria enter the body a number of ways. fungal spores may just settle on the body surface, meet suitable conditions and then grow. their spores could also enter us through improperly prepared food that houses them. bacteria go in much the same way, even though certain locomotive facilities afford them the ability to actively infiltrate us through cuts on our bodies. that's why its bad to walk across or swim in unclean water, especially when the skin is breached. water we drink is a major entry agent as well.

How do fungae and bacteria enter the body?
your skin is your body's largest organ, and is designed to keep foreing bodies out, so anything which invades your body has to get past your skin. the quickest and easiest way is through a body opening; this can be microscopic in the form of small cuts for example, or macroscopic, like your mouth for example
your skin can also be susceptible to fungae and bacteria, but you asked about things invading the body

Bleach will kill almost everything on contact (if it hasn't expired, yes bleach has an expiration date). However i would let it sit in bleach for approximately 15 min. just to make sure you would kill anything that is capable of forming spores. Remember that bleach is corrosive to the skin. My advice as a nursing student is to get whatever it is autoclaved and to let a health professional take care of whatever it is your using this medical tool for.
