This should give you an idea, 15 million dead, 22 million wounded.
As for "taking part" in WW1, its generally accepted that that is no definative way to find that number with any real meat, because the war went into and within so many areas, that so many people were effected and given that- theres no way to "know" who actually took up arms and fought, or who didnt. At the end of the war, the statistics show how staggered the level of involment really was. No definitive answer can be given beyond this: estimated 84 million people directly/indirectly involved in ww1.

Many millions. If you look on the losses at key battles (such as somme) their up to severel hundred tousends. I think that total loss for all countries inkl civilians are something like 10 to 15 million. (in second world war its about 25 million). Johan
