To have been engaged three times by the age of 26, it sounds like things go wrong because you're trying to hard to have successful relationships and rushing into heavy commitments that not everyone is ready for in their early twenties.
When you meet someone, don't speed through everything and make the big gesture - women are thrilled by attention but scared shitless by clinginess and someone appearing to 'need' a serious romantic relationship. Slow down and let things take their natural course... otherwise you'll just have a life of intense but short relationships and a massive credit card bill to pay for all the jewelery!

Wow at age 26 and three broken engagements. What happened there ?? You sound like a nice enough guy but the engagement thing would probably scare me off a little l would suggest you skip that part with your next girlfriend (just my opinion ) That aside though l can't understand why you are still on your own. The most important things to me are honesty and loyalty , and here l am telling you not to mention your engagements the difference is though you are not lying , you just thought you would leave it out till later when you see how things work out. Then you mention it. Maybe you are too full on in the loving and caring department . Look sorry l don't know you so is a bit hard to tell what the problem is, but l wish you well with your next girlfriend. Being in love with someone doesn't necessarily mean you should marry each other. Think of how Indians (asians) go about arranging a marriage. Before you propose marriage, you, your friends, her friends, your families need to agree you're compatible. Do you have common interests? Are you of the same social-class? Do you both want children and how many? Are both of you going to work? Are one or both of you ambitious career-wise? Has one of you got more money than the other? Do you have a similar personality (introvert/extrovert, fun-loving/serious, similar sense of humor, etc). Are your values and opinions the same? Do your friends like her friends? Is she going to make you stop seeing your existing friends or vice versa?
Get people you know to think of other questions or check out advice on-match-making sites.

Perhaps you just haven't met the right one yet, i know its hard but when you least expect it you will meet someone and it will feel like you've never taken a breathe before then and you will know the rest were just practice until then join your favorite cause and who knows maybe your mate will be there or the person who will introduce you will, you never know until you try.
