I don't think she has to adopt her, she is close family and you can just give your daughter to her to look after, when I was little I went to live with my nan for ages, she didn't adopt me, don't know if it's different now though...

Yes your mum can adopt your daughter. Are you sure this is what you want to do, or would you rather your mum just looked after her while you lived in London. Also if your mum adopts your daughter there is going to be a lot of paperwork. Depending on the age that your daughter is now, at a later date don't you think that she is going to wonder why her mum decided to get her adopted, by her gran! I know that she will still be in the family and you will see her, but it might be a bit confusing for her

im not entirely sure of the question. If your wanting your mum to adopt her then yes she can which means you lose all rights or if your worried that your mum can do this without your say then the answer is no she cant without your permission unless you have mistreated your daughter etc then she would have to apply to the courts for a residancy order 1st and go through the whole long process.hopr this helps x

You don't have to have her adopted as this is a bit final - don't you think.
You can let her live with her nan and give her residency of the child. Provided your mum agrees to this, it is a big responsibility to take isn't it?

Good luck tho, hope everything works out for you's!!!

Of course. Probably a safer option than some other family adopting her.

Though it does depend on the age and financial status of your Mother too.
