Is there really any chance of waiting out a commitment phobe? She really does love me, I can see it in her eyes when she tells me, but as close as we seem to get, she shies back away just as far. Anyone else ever been through this? I love her free spirit and all, but what the hell? I need to know she's in it a little. (Dating for about 6 mos, she's gotten distant last 3 or so)

She's not weird, she's just got serious commitment issues. You need to find out what they are and where they come from. Are her parents divorced? Has she had another serious long term relationship that didn't work out? What about her friends' relationships, any break-ups there? Sounds like she's being overly cautious and you need to respect her feelings about this but at the same time try to help her discover where these issues are coming from so that she can deal with them and move on. Good luck.

you need to sit down and find out why shes become distant. Maybe shes been hurt badly in the past and believe me those feelings dont go away easily. If you love her hang on in there but you need to both talk to each other. without communication this problem will get worse.

good luck

I understand your frustration. I would wonder too (if it was a guy for me.) I think you should have a serious talk with her. Communication makes the relationship solid. You need to understand where she is in the relationship.

It wont get better. That sounds like me and a guy in your position used to like me but i got so irritated by him after awhile. It felt like a leech. I dont know about her though but u should judge.

She's probobly just been hurt alot in the past, and now she's afraid to commit because she doesnt want to get hurt again. Just reassure her that you will always be there,, but not in words... show her. It may take awhile but she will grow to trust again.

talk to her..ask her what she's afraid of.

Talk about her FEELINGS!! This will give you some insight as to why she's feeling a certain way.

And then tell her how you FEEL about it.

The key here is communication!
