first of all, HAPPY BDAY to your little one (early i know).
think about finger foods....toddlers are still learning how to use those little forks and spoons..so make a day filled with FUN finger foods.
something easy to chew..
pin the tail on the donkey is a fun game..but i don't think their attention will last long with that one.
maybe make up centres...with finger paints and necklace making (make sure the beads are LARGE so they don't shallow them), you can even have a HUGE box full of dress-up clothes.
maybe do a tea party theme...with little tea play sets and an Alice in wonderland type decor.
a small pinata with candy
a scavenger hunt game
you could make her a queen crown and everyone else gets a smaller princess crown....fake play jewelry and necklaces as party favours..glitter pictures and STICKER books! OH! i better stop! lmao
lol, sorry..i have boys (10yrs and 8yrs)..and my daughter is only 9 months old so I've had YEARS to think up stuff for this long awaited girl of mine! lmao, I've been doing dinosaurs, power rangers, batman and spider man for years!
id LOVE to do something girly!
GOOD LUCK! hope she has a GREAT day.

Last year, when my son turned 2, I was on medical leave so money was tight. We had about 8 of his closest friends over. They played in the backyard and we got pizza. It was simple & fun.
This year, since I am back at work, we're splurging (his birthday is 2 weeks from today). We are taking him and 8 of his closest friends to Build a Bear.
Another fun idea (we do this actually on his birthday) is spend a whole day at your local zoo. Let her pick what animals to see next.
I bought my son for his birthday & the holidays (I shop all at once) a whole bunch of Jay Jay the Jet Plane stuff, Thomas the Tank Engine stuff, a few DVD's, and about 6 books
As for presents for a girl, how about some books? a nice stuffed animal? pretty clothes? Her favorite movie? some puzzles?

My daughter have been given somewhat overwrought at her first birthday and searching back, I desire i could invited fewer people! however, I in basic terms invited family contributors and a few buddies. We had toys out and a few great song enjoying (we had a cd which had each and all of the cBeebies topic tunes; she enjoyed that). by ability of the time she'd opened her gives you and had cake, she grew to become into waiting for mattress and in tears! So i could say have an incredible cake with something on that he recognises (I made Teletubby Hill, are you able to suspect it), some toys out to play with, some song - and the main significant situation - not too a lot of people and shop it somewhat short! the rest is overkill and you have distinctive birthdays nonetheless to come back the place he would be waiting to do greater. Have an attractive time! x

Have a dress up tea party birthday. Have her friends wear special outfits (such as Easter or princess dresses). Serve little finger foods. Cut sandwiches in triangles, cut fruit up and serve cupcakes instead of cake.
Have the party guests decorate picture frames or do some other art project.
The gift depends on what she likes. Dolls, princess items, dress up clothes and purses are what my daughter liked at 3.

This may seem an obvious question but .... have you asked her what she wants for her b-day party?
I almost forgot to ask when mine turned 3, and had planned and worried about which big huge thing to do for her. I didn't have money either, but was willing to eat beans for a week just to give her a great b-day party somewhere.
Then I remembered to ask, and you know what she said? "I want a Boots cake (from Dora the Explorer) and pink lemonade with lots of presents"
So that's what we did, and she had the best time, the pictures say it all :)

Heres what I do on a tight budget:
I bought party favors: only Hats, goody bags, and paper plates with Dora on them.
I bought a generic table clothe, paper cups, and candy to put into the bags. (you can get little toys at the dollar store or just skip goody bags alltogether)
Get a cake that is generic or make one. Buy a key-chain size toy to match your theme.
Buy one toy to match her theme. If you want more then one toy check out the doll department (most little girls love baby things). Then buy an outfit and shoes or something like that. Keep it simple.

Happy BIRTHDAY!!
My son will be 3 in February !
I do babysitting one day a week~ I baked plain sugar cookies and then let the kids use plastic knifes and put on their own frosting (put only a little on the paper plate so they don't go crazy!) and I bought a ton of different colored sprinkles and sugars...I let them decorate their own cookies..They all had a blast!! Joey kept saying " me did it!" Then they got to eat their creations...it's simple and affordable and then maybe let a few of her friends play dress up and put music on and let them dance!
