Now, I know this may get some peoples dander up but it's exactly the reason why I can't get my family to attend church. We've had a bad experience with several denominations where those giving 10% of their income to the church are treated far better than those that cannot afford to. If I did, my family would go hungry - hence I can't get my family to attend. It's really frustrating.

I do sympathize with you, and it is unfortunate that people have such an attitude towards you and your family. There is a spiritual principle involved in tithing, and it is best expressed in Ecclesiastes 11:1, "Cast your bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days." In other words, what you give to God will be returned to you in abundance. Also, in Isaiah 55:11, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

I quote these two scriptures to let you know that whatever you give to the church will be measured back to you proportionately. I understand that you have obligations to your family that you must meet and the Bible is very clear on the subject of a man meeting those obligations. Do not allow the ignorance of some people to keep you out of church. Give what you can and the Lord will increase your income and your ability to give. Giving does not always have to involve money---time as a volunteer in the church can be of more value than money

Perhaps you have attended the wrong religious denominations.
The law of tithe was to the ancient Jews these laws were cancelled when Jesus gave his life as a ransom sacrifice. Consider the account of the widows mite. She gave two coins of very little value , however she gave more than anyone else , because she gave all she had whereass the others gave out of their surpluss. The Bible says that God loves a cheerful giver, in other words ,when we give to God we should be happy ,not misserable. The Bible also says you should not let your right hand know what your left hand is doing! So what you are giving to God is no bussiness of your church , your minister or anyone in your congregation. It is strictly between you and God.But dont make a promise to God that you cannot keep, then it is much better not to make a promise at all. Give when you can , and again God loves a cheerful giver. Try to visit Jehovahs Wittnesses , even just to check them out. There is no collection and no tithe within their organization, everything is run by voluntary contributions, and I mean voluntary. You should not give if it means your family will go hungry , even the Bible says that a believer who does not take care of his own familys needs are worse off than a non-believer.So dont let anyone trick you into believing that you MUST pay tithe or give some sort of monetary contribution .If that is the case go somewhere else till you find the ones who practice the truth from the Bible.

Giving to the church is not always by money. You can give many other things such as helping by being an Usher or cleaning or a hundred other things that have nothing to do with money. If you are attending a church that makes a big thing about money, get out of that church. It's not God's church no matter what they say during the preaching. We just had a group from another state singing in our church and there was a love offering taken. Our Pastor ask the guest not to feel they needed to give because the money would be the responsibility of the church to take care of the group doing the singing. Money is the very last thing we are concerned about. It's a fairly small church with about 120 members and it's well known you don't have to give money but your time helping is just as important as money. There are hundreds of ways of giving besides giving something you are struggling to get in the first place. Money means nothing to God and should not mean anything to your church.

you may tithe a minimum of 10% with the aid of fact of what the bible teaches in case you may not then why. Is it in view which you somewhat don't have the money or could desire to you drop some luxuries like cable or internet bill to have the potential to make it. Its between you and God he knows its not as much as guy to verify the reason your not. in case you bypass by making use of the bible then you certainly could and it enables the church do extra in the community. and that i be attentive to that's gloomy that some church homes merely take a seat on money and don't help every physique.

That was one of my reasons for waiting so long to join a church again. Now I have found a church that doesn't have 15 offerings a meeting, nor do they frown if you just can't afford the 10% of your pay. If you give grudgingly you are better off keeping your money. You should want to give willingly. If you only have a little that you can give willingly, then you should continue to do so with a happy heart. If the church you are going to makes you feel guilty for not being able to give more than you can afford, it's time to find a new church.

Become Catholic. They'll be happy if you put a quarter in the collection plate every week - but just remember, that quarter is going towards the 12 billion dollar settlement to the abused children at the hands of priests.

According to the passage of time everything lost its value. Now even in churches your devotedness is measuring by your wealth. It is becoming more and more material life where Jesus has got out the people who misused it.
