The cheapest times tend to be when there are no hoildays. Examples of times not to go are: Summer, Christmas, Valentines, Easter (these blackouts only apply if your trying to reduce cost. Generally speaking these are great times to go to the Caribbean). However, ideally you may want to go in the months of October, November, end of April, end of May and beginning of June.
Word of advice: look out for special fares if you really want to travel outside of the aforementioned months because sometimes there are some good offers during the peak period. Plus that's when all the great activities take place. Some activities are Spring Break, Reggae Sumfest, Jazz and Blues festivals, Carnival.
