that is not something you can answer until your faced with that choice.

to suggest that you can choose something like that and not BE in that situation is insane.
besides not ALL birth defects are horrible. and what does that say? that you will kill a child because of your own selfish need to have a "perfect" baby.
a bit shallow i think.

i know some wonderful ppl that have a very happy, healthy and sweet little girl, who happens to have been born with only one arm. she is the light of her parents life. she can play piano better than most ppl with two arms, is VERY smart.(in honors classes) and is cute as a button.
should SHE have been aborted just because she doesn't fit your idea of normal?
perhaps instead of worrying about ppl that would laugh, we should be TEACHING OUR KIDS TO BE MORE RESPECTFUL OF THOSE THAT ARE DIFFERENT! instead of doing away w/them!

You're a very selfish person.
If your baby is like that they won't care. Sounds like you'll care more of what others think about him than you would be to care about him. You can teach a child to love himself through how much you love him and not even care about what others think of him.

You must have a problem with handicap people, or you wouldn't have such a low opinion of them enough to want to kill your own child and not give them a chance at life!!

And guess what? Most of the time docs aren't right about defects. They can see a defect that isn't there after the baby is born, and a lot of the time they don't see defects that are there when the baby is born.

You have a very selfish and sick way of thinking, girl. I highly suggest you get your tubes tied.

I would never give up a child I would raise it to best I could and love it no matter what. all children are beautiful noi matter what, some have beauty on out side the special ones have inner beauty. People that make fun of others that have disabilities should be ashamed of themselves, they are the ones with problems. You should never think that because a person has disability that they are ugly., they cant help it and some are more intelligent than us put together. I have a brother grown up who has disability i used to get angry with ppl who tormented him, tho i always loved him and treated him no differently. My daughter adores him says hes more intelligent than her other uncles hes her favourite... we are all humans we should be treated that way and not treated like animals...

it depends on the birth defect if the child is going to live a life full of pain and just pass on at a young age anyway then yes nobody likes to see a lil child suffer with tubes hanging out of every hole it its lil body but just to kill a baby because it will not be beautiful in your eyes or others is not much of a reason all of god children are beautiful in diff ways some you just have to look inside to see it

i am not being mean but would you do it for the baby or so you didnt have to watch people laugh and whisper. And are you talking full mental retardation (confined to a wheel chair, must be cleaned, and fed) or just a few slight things like missing a finger, one leg shorter than the other these things are nearly "fixable" now...

i personally would keep the baby.....not everybody is perfect....there was only one person that was ever perfect and he was crucified for it.....besides ALL BABIES drool especially when they are teething. If your opinion is to abort when you know that the child will be born a special needs child then why didn't your mother abort you? She could've for retardation.........

Is it a cleft palate or what- that is very fixable- and a doctor once told me that if something was wrong that I could not get an abortion here- I told him I would not get an abortion anyway-and the tests have been wrong before- so - I wouldn't do it- D

We would, of course, have the baby, and raise him or her with love. Every life has worth. - it's not up to decide who lives and who should be killed, just because of a disability.
