my boyfriend is 5ft 6 and i'm 5ft 5, he's such a great guy and has asked me to marry him but my friends think he's too short for me, they tell me i need a tall man. i love my boyfriend so does it matter if he's short?

I can't recall height ever an issue...
You do realize men like Tom Cruz, Al Pacino and other top male stars are smaller or as tall as your Boyfriend..and on screen they are large than life so to speak... I have a saying and take this in a
positive way " Big men look down small men look up "
Is it possible your friend's may be jealous that you have some one who Care's about you??

Of course it does not matter how tall or short he is. But you should definitely not marry him. If you are immature enough to (a) listen to your friends, who from the sounds of it, don't have a functioning brain cell between them, and (b) publicly tell a bunch of strangers on yahoo how shallow you are, then you are certainly not ready for an adult relationship such as marriage. So dump your boyfriend, give him a chance to find someone normal, and go back to the sandbox with your friends.

Why should you even care? Height is such a shallow topic. If you love him and if he's a really good guy, then marry him!
My husband is only like 1, maybe 2 inches taller than me and we're just totally fine! We still work realy well together!!

tell your friends to SHUT UP and mind their own d@mn business! I've never heard of anything so SHALLOW in my life.
if you love him who CARES if he's 5' 6" or 2' 6"!!!
im 5'1" my husband is 5'4"....we have been together for almost 9 yrs and married for 6yrs. all the friends that i had that told ME i could do better....are no longer my friends! and not because of what they suggested...they just were shallow and have dropped off my friend radar.
besides little guys are GREAT...your eye level, (which is great for kissing too!) AND you don't strain your neck out trying to look up at him all day!

There was an old wife's tail saying sise is'ent every thing. And they were correct .sise is'ent everything it's what come's from the heart that counts .if you love him then hight mean's nothing to you , it's how much love he give's you in return and vice virser how much love you give him in return as well.i hope that helps you out .good luck for the future!

If you have to ask, you can't be all that crazy about him. Does it really matter? And...who are THEY anyway?!? If you love this man, and want to spend the rest of your life with him, it shouldn't matter if he is 3'9". Do you love him? Do you want to marry him? Then SAY YES and everyone else can go to hell.

If you are asking something like this and following your mates or even thinking about it......you shouldnt even think about marrying him. What matters is you and him and your relationship not your friends....or sure go with someone taller he may match your ideals but he probaly wont match you....let me ask one thing why are you with your man?

If you love him then hight shouldnt be an issue, you are in love with him not how tall he is or isnt. Ignore your friends they obviously think of men as an accessory as opposed to a companion.
