Is it the same as not eating at all? How much weight could you lose if you always burned the calories you ate?

No, it does not. You must burn MORE calories than you intake (eat) to lose weight. Eating the same amount will not lose you weight, your weight will stay the same.I am guessing that 1700 calories is how many you burn in a day without excercise right? SO, if you eat 1700 cals but dont excercise (which burns extra calories) You will not lose weight. But if you eat 1700 calories but excercise you will burn more calories and thus lose weight.

1) You will maintain your weight

2) If 1700 calories per day will accomplish 1) then fine

3) Approximately 3500, if you assume a diet composed of 30% fat and the rest a mixture of protein and carbohydrate

your burning the calories that arent there yet... so you do lose weight since when you sweat it takes more weight off you..
