my son had problems w/this too. they will get it in their own time. frustrating i know..but no amount of bribery or discipline will make them do it.
they are in control of it...and they feel like they LOOSE control of the situation when they are TOLD what to do.
instead of saying...you HAVE to go now!
ask her...do you want to go poopie now, or after nap (eating etc...)?
when she has a CHOICE she has control! she'll get it...though it will take awhile. give up the diapers and pull ups. just the panties (messy i know) if she has a mess, SHE must help clean the panties. she won't like that too much, and the thought of having to clean them with the option to choose WHEN to go might help her decide that pooping in her panties is NOT fun.
my oldest had trouble till he was 4 1/2
my middle child got it at 3
my youngest...remains to be seen *she's 9months* lmao potty boot camp hasn't started for her yet.

Tough love works wonders, I tell ya. Throw away all the diapers in the house and tell her gently but firmly, "If you want to poop, you have to use the toilet like everyone else in this house." Next time she has to poop, she may throw a tantrum. But the urge to poop will overcome her; she can't hold it in for long. Then what will she do, squat in a corner and go caca on the floor? Of course not. She'll cave in and use the toilet. Two or three days and she'll forget she ever wore diapers. Don't let your urge for peace and quiet let you give in to the tantrums. It's more trouble in the long run, trust me. A few days of tantrums vs. a few months (who knows, maybe a couple of years) of diapers.
You might also let her in the bathroom when you're pooping, and read her some of those children's potty books, to get her accustomed to the idea that it's normal - hell, maybe even fun - to poop in the toilet.

She'll do it in time...My son is going to be 3 and he will run to pee in the potty...but still won't do the poop in the potty!! He's dragging his feet...but he will eventually REALLY hate the feeling of poop in his pants and want to go on the potty...just give her time!

she sure can work this for negative attention but she will do it when she is ready and you could see if a positve incentive will work like use the potty and get a sticker or something else that she likes on a chart...hopefully she can resolve this before kindergarten...they usually do!

maybe she afraid of the water splashing on her butt. a lot of children are afraid of that, it startles them. just give her time and try to explain to her that is ok if the water splashes her. or you might try to turn the faucet on a little bit(works for my husband).
