If PBF sticks and runs he'll win. If De La Hoya can cut the ring off and work the body, Oscar has shot. We'll have to wait and see Brad. Should be an interesting fight.

The only person that can beat Floyd, is Floyd. If he boxes, like he did to Baldomir, no one can touch him. The fight will be boring if you want to see toe-to-toe action, with an exciting knock-out but the "science" to boxing is hit and not be hit. Floyd can do that better than anyone. I think this turns into a boring fight, with Floyd boxing circles around an older, slower de la Hoya. Oscar will always have that puncher's chance but Floyd doesn't give you any openings to land solid shots.
Lastly, let's not forget that most of boxing had labled Oscar as a shot, washed up fighter after his destruction at the hands of B-Hop. The only thing that has changed that is he destroyed a highly overrated Ricardo Mayorga. Let's be honest, Mayorga is not a "professional" boxer. He doesn't train right, live right or prepare himself to fight properly. He climbs in the ring and hopes his angry & fury will win. He's a bully and when Oscar punched the bully in the nose, the bully wanted to quit. Floyd, like B-Hop is a true professional boxer, is always in shape, and has a plan A, plan B and even plan C when he goes into fights. I just think he is to young and dynamic for Oscar at this stage of Oscar's career.

Yes he will...oscar is living off of his name and past achievements...who has de la hoya beaten recently? He got KO'd by B-Hop, and before that he won a decision against Stum(which clearly Sturm won). Floyd has looked untouchable, against bigger guys and smaller guys. Its a high profile fight (kind of like Mayweather/Gatti), but should be a mismatch. Floyd wont knock him out, but should win 9 or 10 rounds easily in a unanimous decision.

Brad ~
In my opinion, that depends on one thing and that is, will Oscar try to outbox Floyd? If Oscar tries showing Floyd and the world that he's just as fast and agile as Floyd and if Oscar wants to showcase his skills that he has learned from Floyd's father Floyd he will lose the fight.
If Oscar comes out and throws his left hook to Floyd's body over and over again and fights the fight that all Mexicans have been hoping he would fight since the beginning of his career, not only does he win the fight, but he wins the respect of the true Mexican fight fans, the respect that has been dodging Oscar since he turned Pro. He has to man handle the much smaller Mayweather, he has to use tactics that he may have never used before. Oscar must become a bully and not the boxer that he has prided himself on being. If he tries fighting like he did against Trinidad he will be booed out of the ring and never ever be accepted as anything more than a paper lion.
The key to this match up is the Body attack from both fighters, Oscar doesn't like it to the body either. In the past five or six years Oscar has been using a cup that a lot of fighters only use for training in the gym, a cup that rides four to five inches above his trunks. I have always been of the opinion that Oscar doesn't like or can't take it to the body and I believe I was validated with the Hopkins fight. If Floyd picks his shots carefully which is about as certain that the Cubs won't win the World Series next year he can hurt Oscar to the body.
Floyd Sr. knows that this is a dangerous fight for his son and if I were Oscar no matter how messed up the Mayweather clan is, there's still that connection of Father and Son and would be weary of keeping Sr, around for this fight. Gilberto Reyes is avalible, the Mastermind behind Julio Cesar Chavez's distruction of Floyd's Uncle Roger who fought exactly like Floyd except a little bit slower.
Oscar will be the first fighter to finally shut Floyd up if he fights the way I mentioned above if Oscar tries going speed for speed Floyd will never be silenced.

top 5 reasons why Oscar will prevail........
1. Oscar IS much bigger naturally than anyone PBF ever fought -
PBF only ever fought one true welterweight and that was Baldy, but Oscar is a natural 154lbs now. Sure Baldy may walk around at 180+lbs but Oscar has the bigger frame and Baldy at that weight would look like Hatton does at 175lbs. Much as ButterBean may weigh more than Vitali, Lennox and Wlad but at their natural fighting weights the Bean would be dwarfed....walking around weight says nothing and Oscar will be much bigger than PBF but athletic with it.....the difference here is quality weight because Baldy had 11lbs on PBF but it wasn't due to a bigger frame, more due to his gut.
2. Oscar will be the biggest puncher PBF has EVER faced -
If anyone replies to this sayig what about Judah then they are retarded, because what good fighters has Judah KO'd other than Spinks. Baldy even said Gatti hits harder than Judah. Plus with the extra weight this will most certainly hold true.
3. PBF is most open to the left hook -
PBF while great defensively is most vulnerable to left-hooks and Oscar's left-upper-hook is hard to see coming as it approaches at an angle, plus it has great snap behind it.
4. PBF has overrated speed -
PBF is not as fast as Mosley was at 147lbs the first time he fought Oscar, no way. And that was a close split decision with Oscar dominating early but tiring late. Oscar CAN cope with that speed and made the right adjustments at 154lbs in the sequel where in truth he drubbed Shane. Forrest proved that fighting tall with a great jab could conquer that great speed that Mosley had, and if Oscar does the same then PBF may struggle to make that speed count. Plus Oscar has fast hands himself.
5. Big Fight experience -
Oscar has seen his all before on so many big fights. Few guys have been in fights the size that Oscar is accustomed to. Oscar has had truly huge occasions before with Tito and X in particular, but even with Chavez, Sweat Pea, Vargas and Mosley those fights were massive too. PBF has only fought 3 PPVs and none of them gad huge public or media attention. Under that amount of pressure things can boil over emotionally especially in the ring with the whole world watching. This will be the first time that many casual fans will have seen PBF and he knows this. It is **** or bust and who knows how he will tale that level of pressure and media frenzy. Oscar we know is very relaxed with this having had is whole career in the spot-light plus he will get all the attention and PBF will have to take many ego blows as he plays second-fiddle.
