this has been occuring 4 few weeks thumb not effected

Could be reptitive strain injury - RSI. If you do a lot of repetitive work - ie on a computer, video game or manning the check-out till at a supermarket - might have strained your muscles. Go see a doc!

Go talk to your doctor about this. There are a number of things that your doctor will ask that we cant. Do you do repetitive motions that can cause an Repetitive Strain Injury? Do you have swelling in the feet or other arm? Are you on medicine that causes peripheral edema? How is your glandular function? Low thyroid for example causes swelling in the body.

It sounds like carpel tunnel syndrome, my dad has it, his hands swell really big and irritate the hell out of him.Its when the tube that your veins are contained in, in your wrist, tightens, and has an effect on your hands, to put it very simply.Go to the docs and find out what it is for sure though.

Sounds like it could be a moderate form of arthritis. Have you tried any of the "over the counter" arthritis meds? Tylenol makes one and Wal-Mart has a generic. Works real well. Arthritis does not always affect every digit.

hi. i had an accindent at work yesterday. i the middle finger of my left hand. and it feels the same as your left hand. i'e hot swollen and puffy. and it huts wen i bend it. so i have ether frastured it. or badly bruied it. and seeing that i taking my 4th dan black belt next week. i cant let it bother me. but you could go see a doctor.

You could be having Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Go see your orthopedic surgeon for evaluation.
