I mean the causes of species destruction..

do you mean how animals/plants are getting more and more endangered or how many are becoming extinct??

more and more animals are becoming endangered because of habitat destruction; competition with man for a place to live, or the logging industried keep killing the trees animals need to live in, hide in, etc. if one animal start to dwindle, another will surely dwindle. for instance, if we had a shortage in salmon, many bears will not make it through the winter because during the fall [salmon run] the bears will eat LOTS AND LOTS of salmon to build up fat for the winter hybernation. but not enough food? not enough fat for the bear to work off on during the cold winter. pollution in water can also harm out oceans and lakes because when you poisen water...DUH fish die as well as coral reefs. dams also hurt animal habitats because some fish spawn and migrate to certain parts of rivers and lakes. dams block off thier breeding grounds and the fish dont know what to do.

global warming is also slowly killing animals. example...caribou in i think alaska are slowly dying out because suddnely there is rain in the winter. rain is BAD in winter because the rain with harden into a sheet of ice. caribou digg for food in winter...but with a sheet of ice covering the ground they cannot get to their food. the locals have seen blood on the snow and dead caribou because the ice sheet they tried to get through has cut them. also in the summer this warm weather is HEAVEN for insects like mosqutoes. soooooo many of them swarm the caribou that they are forced to move higher up the mountains [where its too cold for these parasites]...but they pay the price with crappy grazing grounds because its too cold. so the caribou really have no energy to live to the fullist trying to fight the seasons.

illegal hunting and over hunting is also aiding extinction. for furr trade, ivory, medicine, etc. you get ALOT of money on the black market, so as long as people still pay for stuff in black market, people are going to still hunt for money.

man cannot see that they are killing the earth slowly because they are so caught up in thier own society and money. as long as its not harming them HARD....they wont see thier own destruction.
