I have a Visa for the Working Holiday Program. When I get to the airport what happens? How do they check my funds? Do I have to print off a bank statment?

Didn't they already check for funds when applying to the program?

A printed bank statement is listed on their site. Here is a link in dealing with students proving their financial ability when applying for a Visa. So the proof would be similar in your case. Other information is available on the site too for what to expect in crossing the boarder.

It is likely the issue will not come up, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared if it does. Generally customs looks at you and is assessing that with potential problems. As in, if you look like an average Australian with a certain amount of luggage they are likely to assume you meet that requirement. They may ask the question of your money, and see how you answer the question then not ask for proof if it all sound reasonable. They actually tend to check for the opposite. That if you are traveling with over $10,000 it must be declared and it is a question they ask fairly often. This is related to money laundering and drug smugglers.

(I did WHP from Canada to Australia years ago - I don't recall much of going through Australian customs but i have never been checked for cash on any trip - including that one.)

Just get a printed bank statement from an ATM before you go that shows your bank account balance. Get it the day you go. Also, if the bank is open, I'm sure having something authorized and stamped by the bank wouldn't hurt.
