I jsut bought my dog, a Boxer/Pit mix, a new toy, and she loves it to death. Why do dogs like them so much?

It is like a real animal that they attacked and it makes noise like a mouse or some other critter.

Because the toy makes a noise. Just watch her as my Boxers will tear up the toy trying to get to the squeaker inside. If she gets it, she might eat it. A big ball, about 6-7 " in diameter, would be just as much fun and maybe you could find one with something inside it. Don't think she will be able to get that size in her mouth.

Don't ask me you'd think the noise would hurt their ears wouldn't you as they don't do wonders for mine lol
My 2 dog's love their squeaky toys and Xmas is a nightmare they get bout 5-10 each n i love it when they gradually 1 by 1 loose their squeak lol.
Roll on Christmas eh .......NOT lol

Dogs like squeaky toys because they get a reaction out of them. They can make it work all by themselves. This is a fun game for them to play. And fun for us to watch them play.

they are curious about everything and anything that makes noise is just that much cooler to them. My mastiff has a stuffed monkey that screams when you squeeze it that he just loves

The squeaky noise is curious for them and they like that it is almost "alive" !!!!! :)

I guess cause it sounds like a real ..dying/screaming animal when they bite it, i'm not sure that's what i always thought
