a terrarium is an aquarium without water

it has rocks and or dirt for plants - with a light to help them grow - it's landscaping on a miniature scale

There are usually a big bulbous glass bottle used to plant plants in. They need little water because when water evaporates from the soil it condenses on the glass and runs back down into the soil. Terrariums are sometimes made with sections of glass with lead (or another metal) between the sections
