does anyone else enjoy the comments from ignorant people who generalise and try to incite hate ?
from what i have seen it gives people a wonderful opportunity to answer intelligently and correct any wrongs and misconceptions
so don't hate these people ... they are doing everyone a favour right ?

i have only been here 10 minutes and seen two people who were at heads with each other being brought together through hatered and judgemental opinions of another
i have seen derogitory comments about certain faiths bring about some wonderful answers that show how little those people know
the world needs ignorance ... to bring to light the truth
long may it continue and love to you all xx

I don't know why, but this reminded me of a line in a song...it says something along the lines of: why can't we be colorblind? And then it goes into a multiracial song talking about how we shouldn't see color when talking to people of other races. Just kinda felt similar to me, hehe. But I'm also sleep deprived thanks to my twins.

do you mean between religion vs other religions? or religions vs atheism? or do you mean religion vs their own personal opinions that happens to sound intolerant?

well the thing is western religions cannot tolerate one another because the christians say they are the truth. the muslims say they are the truth. the jewish say they are the truth. they always fight over whos holy book is the TRUTH when ALL OF THEM claim they are the "truth".

most of the time the atheists dont agree with the religious fanatics because atheists believe in science and equality while the fundamentalists believe in a book that totally doesnt follow science. and cannot be equal because now we have stuff like "intelligent design" in some PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN AMERICA, and phrases like "in god we trust" on american dollars when the 1rest amendment CLEARLY SAYS, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

and some religious folk believe being gay is EVIL and a SIN because the bible says its evil and sinful when gay people dont do anything in society to hurt anyone...unless that gay person just also happens to be a murderer. some also believe other religions are created by the DEVIL to trick people into straying them away from "gods word/teaching" which is already pretty intolerant no matter how you look at it.

peace to everyone? i really hope so...but i dont think man kind can ever truely fulfill peace.

Well said.

They do give an opportunity for refutation and correction and the bringing in of better things. As well as for humour.

And we can all learn from the contributions.

Paul said : there must be also heresies among you that they which are approved may be made manifest among you,(1 Corinthians 11).

As such they are a valuable platform for the truth. Great !

Yes ignorance has it's place in the Cosmos doesn't it? Sometimes I get weary from ignorance all around me. But it is a good opportunity for me, to learn compassion.

And then, I am ignorant of a lot of things, I am just not proud of my ignorance like a lot of people are. I want to remedy it.

We have a saying in the South--"They are ignorant and proud of it." These are the ones who love to argue and display their ignorance at every opportunity. HA!

This isn't directly answering the question but I do enjoy it when people start a discussion that they have absolutely no clue about.

When I was at school, my teachers would say something derogatory about the fact that I believe in Creation and not Evolution and then would get thoroughly tied in knots while I calmly pointed out all the holes in their arguments and turned the tables on them.

That felt good!

Anyone who has anything defamatory, or derogatory to publicly say about anyone else's faiths and beliefs is only exposing his/her own IGNORANCE in public !
...One can correct others' misconceptions, if only they are willing to listen : But what can anyone do about those who have permanently closed their minds to everything else, except what they have been brain-washed to believe in ?!
Just say 'Oh Lord, forgive them - for they know not what they do !', and move on...
There are still a lot of worthwhile things, that you can do !
Keep on doing your best, dear friend.

...And that's not all, Pangel. If you answer a racist question with hard (but swear-less) words to make the questioner stand back and actually question him/herself, you will have lost 12 points on account of being reported. It happened to me 2 hours ago...and Yahoo (bless 'em) made no comments of their own.
I hate nobody...but realise Yahoo see the sneering and snarling as 'sexy' - and if some dear tries to put a boot in it, he/she will be made the 'wrongdoer'.

Well, you're going to love this site then, it's full of conflict and hate. It's a wonderful representation of the world as it is today and as it has been since the beginning of humanity. You sound a little too lofty though and I sense that eventually all the hatred is going to wear on you.
