I've looked at the Sony cybershot DSC-H2 with 12x opt. zoom. I don't understand the whole memory stick idea though. I have a Kodak easy share with 5x optical, but I want something better. If I get that camera can I not use the same memory cards? I just want a camera where i can zoom down on the field and get some great shots! Any help is appreciated!

You didnt mention which type of memory that you are using in Kodak.
The following are the good zoom cams
1. Sony DSC H2 (6MP,12x Optical Zoom)
2. Sony DSC H1 (5MP,12x Optical Zoom)
3. Sony DSC H5 (7.2MP,12x Optical Zoom)
4. Canon S2 IS (5MP,12x Optical Zoom)
5.Canon S3 IS (6MP,12x Optical Zoom)

Sony cameras use the memory stick, so you would not be able to share memory with your Kodak, which probably uses an SD or CF card.

If you are looking for long optical zoom, try to get a model with image stabilization. That will help get a steady image with a long zoom. Of course, it won't freeze movement on the field. For that you need a daytime game so you can use a fast shutter speed.

Kodak, Olympus, Nikon & Canon all have long zoom digicams. Go to www.dpreview or www.stevesdigicams to look at different cameras and compare features and reviews.
Good luck!

You will be disappointed, none of the point and shoot cameras will give you enough zoom range. You will need a DSLR with a prime lens of 300mm or longer or a Zoom in the 300mm plus range.
