The Children of Abraham were God's chosen which became the Jewish people. Christ taught that God could bring forth children of the promise from a rock.Jesus as that rock that brought forth the children of faith. The obvious answer is yes the jewish people see themselves as God's chosen and so do the Muslims ho believe thay are Abrahams children through Ishmael andChristians who believe they are God's chosen through faith in Jesus Christ. But the true original Children of the promise were those sons of Abraham through his son Isaac. I myself am God's through my faith in Jesus Christ.

There is a joke where an old man is talking with God the old Jewish man say, "Is it true that we are your chosen people?" God replies Yes. The old man then says, "Do us a favor, next time around pick some other group." I am Jewish and this is what I have always heard but it does not mean that we consider ourselves better than you. It means that we are supposed to be more moral so as to be an example to the world. That's all

yea they do go around thinking this all the time, but they are so arrogant they cant see beyond words.

True God did say jews were his chosen people but this was long before Christ. If in fact you see Christ as the messiah then you will know that the chosen people are simply God's followers not by name, like being called a "jew" but by the fact you follow God's will

I personally feel this is what was meant not the fact that you belong purely to the jewish religion, because then this leads to the question ...

What jews, were being refered to orthodox, conservative, reform, reconstructionist, renewal, Chassidic, ultra-orthodox,

In my opinion that would mean its just a matter of labels not of faiths

well apparently god did choose judaism as an appropriate religion for his only child - jesus was jewish - if it is good enough for him, and he is our saviour, surely it should be good enough for everyone?!
Who is to say who is right and who is wrong - take comfort in your own belief whether your believe there is a god or if you don't. It is all about inner comfort. They key is not to enforce your will on to someone else, and respect their individuality and right to opinion.
To answer your question, probably some Jewish people do and some don't - it is dangerous to be sweeping with your judgement - it is like saying all muslims are terrorists, they most certainly are not. Its a tribal thing, everyone has to believe they are the best, in the same way that America thinks it is the best!

I do but I'm baptist, God devides all people into three groups, Jews, gentiles, and and God's church 1corinthians 10:32. Jews are Gods chosen people. They missed the messiah so God extended more to gentiles to make his church but one day at the end of time God will give signs and wonders to the Jewish people to show that Jesus was the messiah.

God Bless

They were God's chosen people..if there is a christian that still say that Jews are the people of God, then that person surely did not read the bible ..it is written
" He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
and in many other places it is written that God after Jesus selected to himself a new generation, a new people..read the bible..read the new testament

They don't go around thinking about it. The saying is often misinterpreted and used as another excuse to hate Jews.

It should be this way.
The first commandment of Christ is love, and the first commandment of other Prophets is the same.
He who hates is not follower of any religions even if he claims to be great saint!
