I'm atheist and I don't think it makes sense at all when christians say I'm going to hell because of it.
I did not "reject" the notion of god or heaven or hell... I just came to that conclusion based on my own critical thinking, my own reading (yes both holy text and scientific text alike) and rationalizing. Is god, if he exists, really going to punish me for all eternity for doing nothing wrong, other than using my own intelligence to come to a conclusion? If christians and muslims really are right about atheists going to hell simply because we simply honestly do not believe in god/heaven/hell, then god, if he exists, really is cruel.

The more you read and question on these forums, the more you know bro. If you choose not to believe or at least not to be open to the possibility, the fault lies with you.
However, I don't judge you at all. I was once so lost I was spiritually drowning of my own making. I was hauled from it to the side of the boat and saw real truth.
What should I do, then turn around after being saved and look at the rest in the water, drowning, and say "ewww, look at all them"? What kind of love would that be?
Nothing but love for you, and hope that you as well find truth.

In the same way that you could fall off a cliff when you don't believe in Gravity. Actual reality will not bend because of ignorance or unbelief. If God didn't exist I would go into the ground and never see another day whether I believed it or not. Actual reality will not bend because of ignorance or unbelief. It is all the same concept no matter what the truth is.

It isn't about not believing in hell, it's about not believing in God. Jesus himself said "My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!" Luke 12:4&5 Also, he said "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3
You can believe anything you want, but if you are inquiring about Christianity then, yes, God will judge you and send you to hell if you do not convert and follow Him.
What you do with your life is up to you, what you believe is up to you but, when it comes to the final judgement it's up to God so... be prepared.

That's madness...not believing in hell doesn't mean you're going to hell! Not obeying and not beliving in God gets you the result of hell! He has to punish those who didn't worship Him! He can't treat people lightly who never obeyed Him...we're all punished!

No, Your only accountable for what you "TRULLY" know and how you live your life.
Christ will judge you according to what you know and what you did in your life.
This is what the bible says, how you want to take this is your thing, I cant even begin to interpret this to you, for i dont know what you trully feel and know

First of all, if you don't repent, ask for forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, then you're going to hell. You have the choice to do all these things, and if you don't, then you send yourself to hell.

yes just because you dont believe in it doesnt make it not true. why is it cruel that if you deny that Gods son died for our sins that he denys us? He died for us the least we could do is believe it.
