I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to approaching girls, all of the girl I’ve talked to in the past I knew and had become friends with, but there is this girl at work who I have no valid knowledge of what so ever, all I know is that I find her attractive and would like to get her number, and perhaps start a relationship with her if she is my type and single. but I only see her briefly when I enter the building because we are stationed on totally opposite sides of the building and I don’t have much of a chance to talk with her...what way should I approach her without seeming too straight forward seeing I don't know her at all? how can I win her over?

I hate to say but the only way to approach a women is by being straight forward otherwise you will lose her respect instantly. But before you do I suggest you develop some communications skills and learn a little about how women think. What's wrong with being straight forward? Try arriving at work a few minutes early and be near the door when she comes in. When she comes in tell her something like, hello you look very familiar don't you work in ____? My name is____ and I have noticed that we arrive about the same time each day.... go from there, see if she seems interested enough to chat or would be willing to meet at lunch for a cup of "conversation" What's the worst that can happen? She can say she's not interested and you proceed to your opposite ends of the building. Maybe she has been noticing you too and is feeling the same way. One way to find out.....

If you really want to get with her you'd risk any embarassment to talk to her. Women can sense things. She'd sense that you like her and she'd respect you for attempting to create something out of thin air. The longer you wait, the less chance you have. Approach her the next time you see her. You only live once. If you don't then it's only infatuation anyway and that comes and goes. Just do it. Live for the moment

Just tell her stright up that you see her around alot and you think that she is beautiful. Then ask her if she could possibly find the time to talk to you. If she is single and interested she will say yes and probably give you her number. If not than move on.

It would help to know what her job is but here goes. Find out her name first then get to her station before she does and leave a card (buy a nice greeting card) saying something like " I have noticed you and wondering (fill in the blank) ask her out, give her a compliment, say something nice about her, Lady's like to hear about themselves.

Act like you don't see her and walk right into her, apologize profusely, begin converstation...
another option is to back your car into hers in the parking while she's in it (not too hard)... this will guarantee you get her number (along with insurance information, etc...)
