No, colour is not what determines beauty, to prove you this, do you watch miss world pagent or miss universe beauty pagent?
You can be any colour, but you are the one who should take care of your appearance.....do your hairs well, good skin care regime etc.....YOU ONLY CAN MAKE YOURSELF BEAUTIFUL YOUR COLOUR. Don't blame your colour....

Aside from the requisite political correctness, the truth is it depends on your culture. In the city where I live right now, skin color has no impact on what people see as beautiful.
But I understand that in places like India and Asia, lighter skin is apparently viewed as more attractive... while in American beach towns, tan is the thing, and if you're looking pasty, the opposite sex will pass right over you. Black people in the places I've lived before considered mocha more attractive than ebony. Et cetera. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. There's no objective measure of beauty that spans the world, and for every person on Earth, there's another person who sees them as the most beautiful creature they've ever laid eyes on. So there you have it. It's all a pointless argument after all.
I guess it comes down to this: if you don't like the standard of beauty where you live, move somewhere else. Somewhere out there, you'd be the local hottie. :-)
Or just stay where you are, and hold out for that special someone who thinks you're the cat's meow.

Sometimes. I think it depends on the skin tone that they have WITHIN their ethnicity. For example: I was walking through the grocery store yesterday and there was a thin VERY dark skinned black woman. She was tall, well dressed, had kind of an afro-thing going on, no makeup at ALL, and she was BEAUTIFUL. I literally stopped and stared at her until she turned the corner. She looked like someone you would see in a National Geographic Magazine. Very real and stunning.
There are also people from my background (German) who have pale skin with a natural rosiness to their cheeks and a certain Aryan look that is very gorgeous (like Gisele Bundchen).
I don't think that there is any ethnic background that automatically makes people more attractive. There are some that are just exceedingly beautiful BECAUSE of their skin color (whatever color that may be).

beauty lies in the eye of the beholder !
Beauty is what soothes the eyes of...watching the thing in question. Thus there can never be a single definition...and it does not depend on the colour of a person.
most of the people probably think beauty of body is more important. I think beauty in soul is more important.because to be beautiful inside is more important.

HI,
NO BEAUTY DOES NOT DEPEND ON THE COLOUR OF A PERSON.BEAUTY IS NOT THE EXTERNAL LOOKS OF A PERSON, IT'S ACTUALLY THE CHARCTER OR BEHAVIOUR OF THE PERSON.EXTERNAL BEAUTY MAY LOST BY AN ACCIDENT,BUT INTERNAL BEAUTY(CHARCTER) IS EVER GREEN.
