on my brand new "fiberglass" front doors? I have the stain [color] picked out as well. I have gotten 3 estimates so far and each contractor told me something "completely" different about the application. Also, the $$$ quotes were outrageous! Thank-you(s) in advance! XOXO Moonpie

The fiberglass door should be factory pre primed, you just have to stain it , that being said , you must use a gel stain, you need to put it on in a 6-10 ingh area and then blend it out,do the entire door in small sections like that stepping back often to look at it from a few feet back to be sure your stain is even and the color is consistent, when you are done staining let it dry a minimum of 24 hrs and then on the exterior side apply 3 coats of spar varnish, waiting 24 hrs between coats, on the interior side use two coats of regular varnish. Fiberglass doors are very tricky to stain and get them looking good,I am a pro,a painting contractor who has done dozens of them , but even I wont let my rookies do them...good luck.
