No, the Assemblies of God is not the most orthodox religion going at this time. There are many. The Assemblies of God can be very inspirational. They love to sing. Find a community church in which you feel comfortable.

The word orthodoxy, from the Greek ortho ('right', 'correct') and doxa ('thought', 'teaching', 'glorification'), is typically used to refer to the correct theological or doctrinal observance of religion, as determined by some overseeing body.

There are very few churches that don't have expenses, ie salary, utilities, poor & needy, so better contribute something. I figure a theater ticket is around $20 so for the benefit I receive, it's better than a doctor's visit or a trip to the grocery store.

What do you mean by "orthodox"? There is the Orthodox church which is not anything like AOG. The Orthodox church is full of ceremonies and rituals, almost exactly like the Catholic church. Assemblies of God call themselves Pentecostal and use the book of Acts as a guideline, and take the word of God literally. They are one of the oldest Pentecostal denominations in America, but not as old as the Anglicans or Episcopalians who are more "orthodox." (Don't rock the boat.)
Pentecostals and 'Charismatics' generally believe in the "gifts of the Spirit" including healing for today and "speaking in tongues" etc. More orthodox churches such as Methodists, and denominations which have been around since America was founded, and in Europe before that, do not believe do not believe this. They believe that healing, prophecy and speaking in "an unknown tongue" was for another time and place.
Confused? Jesus said," By their fruits you shall know them..." Those that are bringing forth the fruits of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, forgiveness, holiness, purity are the ones to follow. Traditions of man won't save you. Only belief in the reality of Christ Jesus as the one who can forgive you of the things you have done wrong. And the Assembly of God preaches this.
