Good quality dark organic chcolate is a good source of flavonids, which have many benefits to the body. Go for a good brand like Green and Blacks. Put a piece in your mouth and slowly suck it. That way you get the flavour which satisfies the craving.
Chcolate cake is more likely to be full of hydrogenated fats which have detrimental effects on the body.

Buy the best quality milk or dark chocolate you can!!!
Chocolate cakes, in my experience, are vastly inferior for many reasons. It is hard to find a place that makes good cake in the first place, especially if you are living in America. It won't keep as long, and it is so much nicer to enjoy a small, but very rich and satisfying piece of chocolate anyday! It also wont leave you feeling disgusted with yourself, as though you have overindulged.
Try finding a local specialty shop! It will be fun too, and you can try out new flavors every week. Or you could peruse the internet for foreign brands that are reputable.

Let's see.... Jenny Craig offers them both, but the chocolate bar would need nuts to make it useful. Chocolate cake is delightful and you don't have to eat as much of it for chocolate satisfaction. That being the case, I would have to go with the chocolate cake.

Well it depends if you want a healthy treat and you like chocolate try going out and getting a low fat treat. It depends when you say "better" because it might mean better in taste or quality but i think that you should buy a low fat choc bar and a low fat choc cake and taste and see the difference.

I'd have to say that maybe a chocolate is a better option... You know cakes have oil, eggs, etc..... puts in extra weight into the cake....
Therefore I'd say go munch on a chocolate bar.....

As a treat, a really rich slice of sticky, saucy chocolate fudge cake. Serve it warmed (not really hot), with a good quality vanilla ice cream. Mmm. & just a few raspberries (room temperature, juicy). Then u can tell urself u're eating fruit, 2?!
