I don't expect this will ever happen. In fact the Spanish/ British/ French divide ended up quite well - the Americans (British colonists) were much more pioneering than the other countries, despite the abuses of the Indian empires by the Spanish conquistadors.
Indeed, IF this were to occur, then there would still be a border issue. The "border issue" is more about poverty than anything else, I believe. Canada is a solid successful country with a range of classes (low, middle, upper) and a good economy, but South America and Mexico are the real problem. Perhaps if South America was more stable and had less poverty (consider their government) then there would be no real border problems.
Nevertheless the importance of controlling immigration and population remains clear - illegally entering a country no matter which way you do it IS WRONG. Get a visa, get a job, and we'll welcome you!

It will never happen, Canada just wants to be left alone and the US certainly doesn't want to take on the problems of a poor country. The only country that really wants this is Mexico and that's only because they are the only poor country out of the three. Canada and the US have worked hard to make their countries rich, why would they want Mexico to mooch off of that hard work?

Your question makes no sense. If you are insisting that Mexico and Canada join the Union, you might as well forget it. If the United States EVER tries to take Mexico, I will leave this country.

United States would only be so lucky to take over Canada. But that would corrupt the Canadians and we cannot have that! They are one of the last civilized countries in the world.

I like your question and I love people no matter where he or she comes from. It is the best idea to solve 12 million undocumented workers and we have nice people from Canada to help our poor neighbor. So now the U.S. can have French and Spanish for our languages .By the way, I am joking and the Yahoo community do not take me serious then report me for abuse. I just want to express my personal opinion and freedom of speech as an American that I am so very proud of my country.

Ummmmm.......Puerto Rico is a territory of u . s .. yet Canada won't be able to grow to be a state of the U.S. because of the fact Canada is a rustic of its own. The U.S. does not own Canada. Wow
