Not yet - if you read the news yesterday, you would know that this was being discussed in the European courts at the moment. The idea is to drop all duty barriers, to bring everybody in line with each other's trade tarriffs. However, the British treasury earns so much money from duty on cigarettes and alcohol, I can't see them ever giving this money up willingly, if at all. It sounds like a lovely idea, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well hopefully when it goes to court next week we will be able to, I bet Gordon Brown is having kittens worrying about it and all the duty the government are going to lose if it gets pushed through and the man in the street wins, bring it on I say and the sooner the better.

it's going to in elementary terms recommend companies in another country gets an excellent strengthen in commerce, mutually as uk-registered companies will loose out. the government would be forced to recoup the losses in tax gross sales via elevating taxes someplace else besides. i won't be able to think of of the final time the european final ruled in our favour - each little thing they do seems to take advantage of the united kingdom dry mutually as benefitting different member international places. of direction all of us pay vast sums by our taxes for the priviledge of being a member, and in return we get a severe priced beurocratic business enterprise that countermines our very own government & regulation courts.
