If she's eaten something that she can't pass either way, she will continue to "dry heave." and make gacking noises without really bringing anything up. If all she's coughing up is spit, that could be the case. We had a dog that tore up someone's shoe, and part of the sole got stuck in her stomach. $500.00 later....

However, it could also be antifreeze poisoning. Is the vomit clear, with sparkles in it? Almost shiny? If there's a remote possibility she could have gotten to antifreeze and you love the dog, take her to an emergency clinic now. Yes, they're outrageously expensive, but she will die a miserable death without treatment as her systems slowly shut down and she goes into seizures.

They also can get a mouthful of poisonous frog, or you may have had some poisons around the house that you weren't aware of, but those usually also make them foam at the mouth.

There is no easy remedy without knowing what she had access to. These would be my three suggestions, if you're able to get any clues from the vomit. Good luck

If this pet is up to date on all vaccinations/deworming,then the problem is something isn't agreeing with her system.Take away all food and water and give it some baby non-flavored pediolyte even if you must force feed it to her. This will keep her from dehydrating and settle her stomach.Try this for 24 hours, then just feed her small amounts of food at a time. Also would suggest to keep her sugar level up,give her a dab on your finger some plain karo syrup ,or honey, two or three times a day until she can hold something down,You can try boiling some chicken, cut into small bites, put in a blender and puree it,and feed her this after her stomach settles.

the dog is probably blocked, this is when the dog eats something is cannot pass, and is has to be surgically removed a fast vet visit is in order to keep her alive. anti-freeze poison would cause the dog to have seizures as well as fever, and so would the snail bait this called shake and bake because the seizures don't stop and the temp gets higher every few min, if it were either of those the dog would probably be dead within a mater of a few short hours

Some snail baits are like lollies to dogs and extremely poisionous. Do you have any accessable to the dog either in the garden or stored somewhere.
